Weekend Pop-up and Forever Bracelets
On August 24, Island Copper held a meet and greet for four of the five artists we are currently featuring in our last pop-up series of the summer. Jewelry makers Hannah Keefe, painter Iwalani Kaluhiokalani and the creatives behind Austin Design and CRFT SHW were on hand to chat about their work and answer questions about the process behind their individual crafts.
As part of this special event, Hannah Keefe soldered her coveted forever bracelets. The bracelets are made from thin bands of gold, silver and copper, and are fitted straight onto the wearers wrist using a blow torch and leather to protect the body from heat. Though they are made to be permanent, the bracelets can always be removed.
We are also hosting jewelry by Tiny Anvil for this weekend only. Her jewelry—predominantly made out of brass—features natural and industrial motifs. The pop-up will only be here until August 27, so stop by before it leaves the island!
